How to Start your own Podcast for Free? - Everything about podcast (Beginners Guide)

So here's a thing Podcast is getting bigger and bigger everywhere especially in India. So why don't you just take your business or your content to podcast format, which is super simple and very useful.

What is a podcast?

A podcast is anything you create in audio format, the benefit of listening to podcast is that you can listen while doing other work like walking or traveling or anything which does not require any concentration.

What is a RSS Link?

Real Simple Syndication (RSS) is a link or like a website where you will upload your podcast and from there your RSS link will publish it to other podcast platform like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and many others. Because you cannot directly upload it Podcast Platforms. Well many of RSS websites are paid but I am gonna tell you how you can create free RSS link.

How to start a podcast?

It is really simple you just need a RSS feed link, go to Anchor.fm and create a free account.

After that just fill basic info like your podcast name and your channel art (it should be 1400*1400). That's it.

How to record and edit podcast?

People think they need a big mic or professional editor. It's not like that you just need a phone where you'll record the audio and a laptop where you will edit it, I prefer Audacity to edit because again it is 100% free. This is a offline method, there is a online method as well, you go to again Anchor.fm and you can record and edit over there, I never used it but it is a option.

How to gain audience ??

The way I used was organic, it is really simple you just post your podcast regularly and you will gain user base.

Second way is, Instagram ads, you post your content on Instagram and then create a ad to promote your podcast and yes it is not free.

Third way is, you can use this after having some user base, which is collaborating with other podcasts.

How to earn money from podcast?

On Anchor right now you can only earn if you are in USA, because monetisation is only available there. You can earn like $15 per 1000 play on podcasts.

Other way is brand integration, you just promote some product of a brand and get paid but it requires a decent enough user base.
